Newborn Photography Session During Covid-19

Returning to In-Studio Newborn Portraits

It’s that time and I’ve never been more excited to open back up to studio newborn photography sessions! Covid-19 has certainly brought an immense amount of anxiety and stress for new parents and sadly, so many had to forego their scheduled newborn photography sessions. As a small business owner, this pause has been a difficult time.  The one thing that has not changed for me, however, is my focus on safety for my tiniest clients.

What You Can Expect

My approach to your health and safety has not changed but Covid-19 has brought along some new additions to my newborn portrait sessions. During this time, you will notice a few extra precautions to your newborn session but here are some of things you can continue to expect:

  • Hygiene measures such a frequent hand washing and use of hand sanitizer;
  • As always, outfits, props and fabrics are cleaned between every session;
  • Studio space is cleaned and disinfected before and after every session;
  • No shoes allowed;

Studio Updates

  • 24 hours between newborn portrait sessions each week to allow for proper sanitization and cleaning;
  • Use of face masks for me and my clients;
  • Only immediate family members are able to attend studio session;
  • Younger siblings will be asked to stay for sibling and family photos only;
  • All family members must be without temperature or illness within 72 hours of session;
  • Contact will be minimal – no handshakes or hugs;
  • Wash and sanitize hands upon arrival.

Do Your Part

  • Remove your shoes at the door and only bring in newborn essentials;
  • Upon arrival, wash hands thoroughly;
  • Face masks are to be worn for anyone in the studio who is not being photographed – please bring them with you;
  • Reschedule if anyone in your household is feeling any symptoms, even if mild;
  • You are welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks but kindly dispose of garbage properly.

Important Notes

For everyone’s safety, clients are required to disclose if any member of their family is feeling ill or has any virus symptoms, including cough and fever. I have temporarily modified my cancellation policy to allow for a refund if you cancel at least 48 hours of your session due to illness. There is never any fee to reschedule.

If anyone attending the session appears to have a cough, fever or other symptoms of the virus, the session will end and you will be asked to leave the studio. No exceptions.
